I made two turkeys this Thanksgiving for everyone at the restaurant, and was thankful that there was enough to go around. I was also thankful that I make good stuffing. Yes. The restaurant manager threw pie as well, so ensued many things for which I am very grateful. Disaster strikes at the hearts of all kitchens in Banff. How is anyone going to shock their veg when there is sediment in the tap water and ice machines? Oh I weep for the loss of bright colours. At least the Chinese food place down the street uses MSG so they retain some measure of dignity, albeit a rather tainted draught. Plus they use shrimp paste. They put it in their food! I can't imagine the length of waiver forms they must be bound to.

I made dinner for some friends of Carly's tonight using chocolate in everything. How fun. At least it was until I found out all the pals my roomate had invited were girls ( I promised her dinner for herself and co. I just thought she would be decent enough to invite someone I could talk to without having to listen to a lecture on why I should advertise my bachelor-ness.) Women and sweets, or men cooking sweets for said effete creatures equates rubbishy, sugar-induced prattle about how you will make a great husband someday for that oh-so-lucky someone. Allow me to illuminate the very serious reality of that reverie. Look, if you marry for food you will get fat... Yup, it happens. That said, "Here's 3rd course."

Right, I'm off for now. M and M. Now, what some of you might not understand about me is that my creative genius comes as a paroxysm, and until it does I become a depraved nocturnal creature, moaning into the dawn hours on the silliest junkets in search of that one epiphany that will best "tableau vivant" the matter. I am a perfectionist by nature, actually both of my parents are perfectionists and I'm just heir presumption. I suppose all cows are brown to some extent, whether the aesthetics of coat and gums or by product of four digestive tracts, brown is indeed a very cowish thing. I'm quite sure this knowledge is rather prosy especially among cows, consequently offense might be taken given the redundant nature of the phrase however, I can't bosh the obvious slight in favour of saying "How now cow?" This might procure a much more opprobrious reaction simply stating conversationalists are liken to common non-descript bovine, so said we shall continue with the lesser rara avis of contempt and say again, how now brown cow?

What ho! It reminds me of something out of a Tolkien novel, where the air gets warmer and the smell of pines makes you drowsy. "Mind Bilbo doesn't eat all the cakes, he's too fat to get through keyholes yet." It is days like this that leave me in absolute awe of simplicity made extrodinary in creation. A breath of air here, some animal incessantly chanting off in the distance, all conglomerated into one cry from nature that positivly screams of God's genius.
